Herbal Medicine in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho

Dr. David Campbell, DSOM, LAc loves living in and serving the community of Coeur d’Alene, Kootenai County, and the surrounding areas. Dr. Campbell has had a passion for Holistic Healing for over 20 years, and he spent 5 years in Doctoral program studying Oriental Medicine. Dr. David Campbell, DSOM, LAc is also certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM.org) as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine, which is their most comprehensive certification, requiring proficiency in four areas: Foundations of Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture, Biomedicine, and Chinese Herbology. Because the Chinese Herbology exam is not required for licensure in many states, most acupuncturists do not take that exam, and are therefore only certified in Acupuncture, not Oriental Medicine as a whole.

Beyond the basic 2 year herbal curriculum in his coursework, Dr. Campbell also spent a full year in direct mentorship with Dr. Fruehauf, who focuses on the herbal treatment of both acute and chronic illness. In his articles on Gu Syndrome, Dr. Fruehauf explains how many enigmatic chronic diseases require a different methodology of diagnosis and treatment in Chinese Medicine (See: The original article on Gu Syndrome). Gu Syndrome herbal treatments have proven to be safe and effective for patients with Chronic Lyme Disease or Post Lyme Disease Syndrome. Dr. David Campbell often utilizes Dr. Fruehauf’s herbal formulations that are manufactured with the highest quality and purity by Classical Pearls.
